The best way to prepare your children for school is to fill their world with reading. 1000 Books Before Kindergarten is a national foundation and public charity that promotes reading to newborns, infants, and toddlers. The goal of this program is to read 1,000 books before the child reaches kindergarten.

Our 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program is broken down into 10 achievable levels of 100 books each. Every time you read a book, cross off one of the icons. When the level is complete, stop into the library to receive a small prize. Once your child has read 500 books and 1,000 books, in addition to a prize book and a sticker they will be recognized with their first name or photo on a celebratory slide on our digital TV displays at both library locations. In addition, 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten finishers will receive a certificate of completion and a final prize!
