All of our PAWS for Reading dogs have had extensive training and testing to be certified as therapy dogs.
We expect that children who sign up to read to our PAWS dogs will be able to sit quietly (with the volunteer, by themselves, or with a caregiver) and enjoy a book with the dog. Children must be respectful of the dog’s space and listen to directions from the volunteer. This will make the PAWS experience better for everyone; the dog, the participant, and the volunteer.
Multiple family members and caregivers can read together to the PAWS dog as long as everyone is able to sit quietly to read and interact with the dog and volunteer.
Please arrive 5 minutes before your reserved time and meet us at the Green seating in the children's area. If you cannot make it to your scheduled reading appointment, please call the library at 970-686-5603. If you are more than 5 minutes late, someone else may be given your session.
Photographs taken during this event may be used for Clearview Library District publicity. If you would like to opt out, please let the photographer know at the time the picture is being taken.
